German Expressionism is the way most german movies were made. It shows really contrasty colors to exaggerate a point or also the way the sets are done.
Some famous films are The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, The Testament of Dr. Mabuse, Metropolis, Nosferatu and Pandora's Box to name a few
German expressionism is the way that the German people directed and interpreted how film should be caught. German expressionism shows a lot of opposites. Good and evil, black and white, mysterious and calm. In many German movie there is this mad scientist. This shows a lot about the Germans in a way because the Germans did evolve the art of medicine and science to another level at one point. The films that are really famous to show the results of German expressionism are Metropolis and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.
